Instructor/Dojo Vice-President – ASU Yondan

Roberta Taliaferro Sensei began her martial arts study in 1972 in Karate while still attending college.  She trained in Karate for 7 years before beginning Aikido in 1986 with Cleveland Aikikai.  She received shodan rank in 2001 from Mitsugi Saotome Shihan who also promoted her to nidan in 2006, sandan in 2014, and yondan in 2024.  In addition to Saotome Shihan, Taliaferro’s influential teachers are Mary Heiny Sensei and Frank Ostoff Sensei.
